BOSTON, MA - Leading venture capital firms and
professional service firms have teamed up to create a new organization to
encourage energy technologies, called the New England Energy Innovation
Collaborative.
Sponsored by General Catalyst Partners, Atlas Ventures and Advanced Technology
Ventures, along with local law and other service firms, the new organization
has started a business plan competition open to any local energy technology
company that hasn't been funded by venture capital.
The competition has a top prize of $150,000, composed of $100,000 in funding
from the three venture firms and $50,000 worth of in-kind services, including
office space. The deadline for entries is January 22, 2007 and the winner
will be announced March 10, 2007 at the MIT Energy conference.
